Coral Bay is simply divine!

Hi to all,

First, thank you for reading our blog and when you post comments. We do so enjoy your comments. After our two-night stopover in Carnarvon to clean the van both inside & out as well as get Wally’s plumbing fixed we headed north. The first stop for us was Point Quobba to view the blowholes & have lunch.

The coastline scenery in Western Australia is fabulous.
Flat country is the norm.
Blowhole at Point Quobba.
Our lunchtime stop was all the more pleasant because of the view.

We then tracked further north to Minilya River where we free camped for the night. We were lucky to get a good spot as we got there about 15:30 & there was probably 30 – 40 campers came in after us.  The place was “chokkas”. The next day we fuelled up at the Minilya Roadhouse & travelled a hundred clicks out to Coral Bay. Coral Bay is 213 kilometres north of Carnarvon and this tiny tropical resort style township is situated right on the shores of Ningaloo Reef.  Amongst the largest coral reefs in the world the Ningaloo Reef can be accessed right off the beach. Coral Bay is all about the reef & pristine white beaches.

The Ningaloo reef is very close to the shore.
There are some big boats & trailers in Western Australia.

We have been swimming & snorkelled in the clearest turquoise water you can imagine. We have also done a coral & fish spotting tour in a glass bottom viewing boat as well as fed some Spangled Emperor fish.

Pour next stop will be Exmouth and then onto Cape Range so we will be out of contact for about a week.
