After Port Augusta our next destination was Pimba on the Stuart Highway. We stopped to look at geographical points of interest along the way and a spot of lunch before arriving at Spuds Roadhouse at Pimba. We left Waikerie mid-morning and travelled to the historic town of Morgan on the Murray River. It was once the busiest inland port on the river handling 80 boats a week and an extensive railway presence with 8 trains. Our overnight camp at Underbool was brilliant. Facilities were first class and well maintained.  Underbool is the gateway to the Pink Lakes and Murray – Sunset National Park. The Pink Lakes appear pink under certain conditions and are best in winter and in spring. The wildlife and birdlife are abundant around the lakes, but we saw only kangaroos.
