Leaving Katherine we travelled up the Stuart Highway and turned off before Adelaide River and travelled on a very ordinary shortcut to Daly River.Daly River is considered a remote community. It has an airstrip for medical emergencies, a pub and some caravan parks. The major attraction of the area is its fishing. The river is a prolific barramundi fishery particularly following “the wet runoff”. Unfortunately, we are not here at the “run off” time. We had a fish for an hour but caught zilch. Cheryl, I think we should come back with our cartopper boat next year!
