We had an easy day in the Isa today after a sleep in. I had a beard trim & Cheryl visited a beauty salon. After lunch at a café & visits to BCF, K Mart, Auto barn & some gift/souvenir shops we visited Lake Moondarra.
Lake Moondarra is the Isa’s fresh water supply & is located 17 km from Mt. Isa. It is a lovely setting with nice picnic areas but unfortunately it is suffering a bit of algal bloom at present.
Friday 14th August
This morning we did a tour of the underground hospital in Mt Isa. The underground hospital was put in after Darwin was bombed. This afternoon we are visiting Rodeo Drive to check out the history of the famous Mt Isa Rodeo before buying groceries & fuelling up. By the end of next week we plan to be in the Gulf but before that we will be quite remote. In the interim we are unlikely to have any wi fi – so please be patient – we are going to have some exciting photos & an interesting blog for you.

Love reading your blog at work ,it shows Marg and I the places we should be at Right Now!!!!!
