We’re rockin at Wave Rock!!!!!!

Gidday again – another update on our trave

We are at Wave Rock having travelled from the Goldfields to the granite & wheatbelt of south east Western Australia. The weather is great, the scenery fantastic & the flies are a bloody nuisance.Wave Rock and Hyden Rock are near the town of Hyden. There are several walks in the area that we have been doing. Wave Rock is over 100 metres tall and is believed to have started forming underground as much as 60 million years ago.

We have also visited Mulka’s Cave. It was the home of “Mulka the Terrible” whom was an aboriginal man who reputedly ate human children. I also walked the Gnamma Trail to observe some aboriginal watering places which I found very interesting.

Sometimes during our travels you explore little gems. The Tin Horse Highway is one of those gems!!!!! Our route took us west of Hyden through the small towns of Karlgarin & Kondinen to Kulin which is at the centre of the Tin Horse Tourist Route before continuing toward Lake Grace then back to Karlgarin & onto Hyden. The tin horses provide a fun & fantastic introduction to bush races. You literally laugh your way through this hilarious & imaginative open air gallery & it’s free

Tomorrow we head east to Esperance.
