Hi everyone,
We left Derby on Wednesday after a short visit to an Auto Electrician to have my tow pro braking system for the caravan fixed. Our destination was 145 kilometres east of Derby & to get there we had to travel part of the Gibb River Road. The Gibb River Road from Derby to Kununurra is an iconic 4wd high clearance vehicle road of some 700 kilometres known for its river crossings, great camp spots, gorges, waterfalls & corrugations. Our journey took us through Camballin, Liveringa, Debesa & Blina Stations. Liveringa Station is 2,650 square kilometres. When we arrived at our campground at Windjana Gorge we were dismayed to find that Wally the caravan had sustained some damage from the constant corrugations despite having aired the tyres down from 40 to 30 psi. Our wall mounted TV arm had fallen to pieces & worse still……When Cheryl opened the door ….IT FELL OFF!!!!!
Luckily, I could remove all 9 damaged rivets & rerivet the door on.
Windjana Gorge is a 7 kilometre return open air gorge walk with good shade, through the Lennard River. There were many easy to spot crocodiles & birdlife in the national park & fantastic reflections & scenery. We were truly blessed with a day of fantastic reflections when we did the walk.

Tunnel Creek is a 750-metre-long underground tunnel that forms part of the 350-million-year-old Devonian Reef, making it one of Western Australia’s oldest cave systems. Throughout the walk there was the odd bat, stalactites & rock formations & we saw a freshwater crocodile under a waterfall

After two nights at Windjana Gorge we returned via the corrugated Gibb River Road to refuel & stock up before heading south easterly to a free camp at Lake Ellendale near Fitzroy Crossing which is our next destination.
