Hi everyone,
After Wyndham, we made our way into Kununurra.
Kununurra is located on Lake Kununurra & the Ord River & is the service centre for the Ord River Irrigation Scheme. Whilst in Kununurra we visited a distillery, a Sandalwood Factory, the local lookout & various other locations. We managed to wash the car & I got a haircut. Cheryl scored an eternity ring with a pink Argyle Diamond.

We then travelled further east but only a short distance to Lake Argyle for a couple of nights. Lake Argyle is a manmade lake but is referred to as an inland sea. It is the largest manmade lake in the southern hemisphere & for an Australian comparison it is the equivalent of the volume of 19 Sydney Harbours. The water inundated quite a bit of a cattle station known as Argyle Downs which was owned by the Durack family whom are well known for their pioneering cattle drives & several of the women are well known authors.
Whilst at the Lake Argyle Caravan Park we enjoyed a wonderful sunset cruise & a swim in their fantastic Infinity Pool.

I would trade a hair cut for a pink argyle too! Well done Cheryl (and well deserved!) 🙂
Love the sunset on lake argyle.
