Hello everyone,
We continued east on the Barkly Highway and said goodbye to the Northern Territory & hello to Queensland . We stopped at a free camp at a billabong on the Georgina River. We also stayed here two years ago & the birdlife is still very good. There were probably 40 RV’S camped along the billabong so it is a very popular spot.
After two nights at the billabong we headed further east & free camped at the location of disused air strip from WW2. Today we drove a short distance east to Mt. Isa where we shall be for the next two nights.

AH, mt. ISA, We remember it well – also the “roo burger” on the front of the bus after a night ride to Townsville – where we linked up with Mudball for a camping trip down the East Coast.
What a trip you two have had! Best regards, Jeanette & Robb
