Our overnight camp at Underbool was brilliant. Facilities were first class and well maintained.
Underbool is the gateway to the Pink Lakes and Murray – Sunset National Park. The Pink Lakes appear pink under certain conditions and are best in winter and in spring. The wildlife and birdlife are abundant around the lakes, but we saw only kangaroos. We were mightily impressed with the scenery and super campsites and plan to return.

We returned to the Mallee Highway and travelled through quarantine at the South Australian state border to the town of Pinnaroo where we had lunch. We travelled onto Loxton and free camped out of town at Rilli Reserve on the Murray River. It was another great free camp.
We are now out of the Mallee region and travelling in the Riverland. We spent time in Berri and camped in Renmark for two nights

We left Renmark and travelled to Barmera. Lake Bonney at Barmera is where Sir Donald Campbell set a water speed record.

Next stop was Waikerie where we have taken in the silo art and are free camped. We are trying to catch a Murray Cod.

Great Story Stephen.
