We have a few overseas followers who follow our adventures, so we are including details of roads & locations as we know they follow us on Google Earth.
After we left Cooktown we headed to Mareeba for four nights. Mareeba is a quite big service town in regional Queensland and is located on the Atherton Tablelands. Mareeba produces 70% of Australia’s coffee and was also a big tobacco growing area. It is als known for it’s fruit wine production and has a large Italian population. Whilst at Mareeba we gave Leroy (our caravan ) a good wash and it now looks a lot better.

We stayed at a farm stay called Ringers Rest along with quite a few other campers.
After Ringers Rest we travelled south through Atherton to Innisfail and Tully to Cardwell. Cardwell is a coastal and rural town on what is known as the Cassowary Coast. The town is a long narrow strip on the Bruce Highway and was the first port established north of Bowen. Whist here we have visited a local national park.

If you can log into to-days ABC news, August 28th, there are some excellent before and after volcano photos of Rabaul.
