Last time we blogged, we were at Golden Beach. From Golden Beach we travelled onto Sale, Bairnsdale to Lakes Entrance. Lakes Entrance is a lovely coastal village with a very safe anchorage and is home to a huge fishing fleet. Many popular types of fish are caught in this location.
Another excellent fishing location nearby is Lake Tyers.
We also visited an old trestle timber railway bridge which was made of red and grey gum and 247 metres high.
After our stay in Lakes Entrance we travelled further east to Bemm River. Bemm River is a very coastal community renowned for its bream fishing.
Unfortunately, I came down with a tooth infection and we were unable to get dentistry at Mallacoota, and Orbost but was able to get emergency care at Lakes Entrance. We retraced our steps to Lakes Entrance and have stayed here for two nights. The upshot is that I will need about 4 visits over 4 months for the tooth to be repaired. Obviously, this is not compatable with our proposed touring holiday, so , we have decided to return to Tasmania. We are now thinking that later in the year we may hop on a plane and go somewhere for a couple of weeks. For now, it’s see you later!

What a disappointment.
As an alternative have you visited Lord Howe Island.
Excellent walking paths, hill climbing if you are up to it, hire pushbikes, scenery, wildlife etc. etc.
Another suggestion is coach travel. e.g. Fly to coach departure point on the mainland, selected tour, fly back home.

There would be heaps of travel companies out of Melbourne.
I will be travelling with Cross Country to Sydney next Christmas for the Start of the Sydney – Hobart.
